dekaniGEM (International Genetically Engineering Machine) is an annual event organized by IGEM foundation. This activity is a competition, responsibility, and sharing related to the field of Synthetic Biology, with all kinds of techniques that support it. In 2015, IGEM activities Giant Jamboree held at the Hynes Convention Center, Boston, Massachusetts, USA on September 24-28, 2015 and followed by 259 multidisciplinary teams from various countries in the world as well as more than 2700 people. The many of participants was simply fantastic this creates a new family, relations academics, and share with one another.

This competition confers gold medals to 115 teams, including a team of UB (Universitas Brawijaya Indonesia), silver medal to the 57 teams, and 56 bronze medals to the team as well as the Best Award in each theme.

UB_Indonesia  team create theme of Health and Medicine, in collaboration with the Department of Biology, Physics, Information Technology, Medical Education, and Industrial Engineering UB with a project titled De (ngue) tective.  UB_Indonesia  team consists of Isyatul Azizah (Biology-2011), Wulida Khoirunnisa (Biology-2012), Eva Watamtin (Biology-2012), Aldino Caturrahmanto (Information Technology -2012), Athaya Febriantyo (Medical Education-2011), Ghenniy Rachmansyah (Information Technology -2012), Oky Grace Polii (Biology-2012), Margaret Rika (Biology-2013), Indana Zulfa (Industrial Engineering-2013), Hanestya Oky (Medical Education-2011), Daniel Dwipaskawijaya (Physics-2013). In addition there are, among others, Didik Huswo advisor Utomo, M.Sc., Roudlotul Jannah, S. Si, Aisha Ami Wardani, S. Si., And Agatha Mia, S. Si.

UB_Indonesia team led by Mr. Widodo, Ph.D. Med. Sc., Mrs. Zulfaidah Penata Gama, Ph. D., and Mrs. Chandra Dewi, Ph. D. De(ngue)tective discusses the design and construction of the nucleotide building blocks of protein antigens and recombinant antibodies for the detection of dengue virus serotype I-IV.

Construction nucleotides are then combined and propagated through plasmids have been determined by the IGEM. Stages of research conducted based technologies and molecular biology. The research project is supported by android application for image processing image early detection results at a later date. This application contains information about dengue fever in general as well as of phenomena and processes data input detection results that will be synchronized into a health database.

The activities carried out are not limited to laboratory research and application, but must carry out the practice of human action. This action was carried out in Kediri in the context of the sampling and dissemination of dengue to the public in collaboration with the East Java Provincial Health Office.
