Cintya took the topic of making herbal medicines from plants that have bioactivity as Dengue Antivirus. Bioactivity owned by kecombrang flower (Etlingera elatior) with essential oil content can provide potential virus prevention, avoid cytotoxic or negative effects on cells, and make virions more susceptible to virus removal systems through the immune system. in addition, terpenoid compounds can inhibit viral DNA / RNA synthesis.Bioactivity from kecombrang flowers (Etlingera elatior) has great potential to be developed.

In addition, Kecombrang flower is commonly used as traditional medicine, but it has not been maximized in its use as an anti-viral drug. In addition, kecombrang flowers can also be found easily around the yard of the house. Therefore, this plant is very potential in overcoming dengue fever because it can be seen from the phytochemical content of the plant.Etlingera elatior has various bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, terpenoids, tannins, and essential oils. The content has bioactivity that can be utilized to overcome the problem of dengue hemorrhagic fever. Dengue hemorrhagic fever is caused due to the dengue virus from mosquito vectors that can develop in the human body. therefore, it needs to be rebalanced with the addition of certain substances such as antivirals.

“This innovation supports the Indonesian government’s priorities in the field of health such as controlling infectious and non-communicable diseases, it is hoped that many Indonesian people will be free from dengue and other viruses. Because this innovation is able to play a role in inhibiting the replication of other Flaviviruses. This idea also supports and will realize the Community Movement Healthy Living (GERMAS), as well as the HEALTHY JATIM Program from the East Java Provincial Government “, she said.
