dekaniGEM (International Genetically Engineering Machine) merupakan kegiatan tahunan yang diadakan oleh iGEM foundation. Kegiatan ini merupakan ajang kompetisi, responsibilitas, dan berbagi terkait bidang Biologi Sintetik beserta segala macam teknik yang mendukungnya.

Tahun 2015, kegiatan iGEM Giant Jamboree dilaksanakan di Hynes Convention Center, Boston, Massachusetts, USA pada tanggal 24-28 September 2015 dan diikuti oleh 259 tim multidisiplin dari berbagai negara di dunia serta lebih dari 2700 orang. Jumlah peserta yang cukup fantastis ini menciptakan keluarga baru, hubungan akademisi, dan saling berbagi satu sama lain.

Kompetisi ini menganugrahkan medali emas kepada 115 tim, termasuk tim Universitas Brawijaya (UB_Indonesia), medali perak kepada 57 tim, dan medali perunggu kepada 56 tim serta Best Award pada setiap tema.dekaniGEM (International Genetically Engineering Machine) is an annual event organized by IGEM foundation. This activity is a competition, responsibility, and sharing related to the field of Synthetic Biology, with all kinds of techniques that support it. In 2015, IGEM activities Giant Jamboree held at the Hynes Convention Center, Boston, Massachusetts, USA on September 24-28, 2015 and followed by 259 multidisciplinary teams from various countries in the world as well as more than 2700 people. The many of participants was simply fantastic this creates a new family, relations academics, and share with one another.

This competition confers gold medals to 115 teams, including a team of UB (Universitas Brawijaya Indonesia), silver medal to the 57 teams, and 56 bronze medals to the team as well as the Best Award in each theme.

Tim UB_Indonesia mengusung tema Health and Medicine, berkolaborasi antara Jurusan Biologi, Fisika, Teknik Informatika, Pendidikan Dokter, dan Teknik Industri Universitas Brawijaya dengan proyek berjudul De(ngue)tective. Tim UB_Indonesia terdiri atas Isyatul Azizah (Biologi-2011), Wulida Khoirunnisa (Biologi-2012), Eva Watamtin (Biologi-2012), Aldino Caturrahmanto (Teknik Informatika-2012), Athaya Febriantyo (Pendidikan Dokter-2011), Ghenniy Rachmansyah (Teknik Informatika-2012), Oky Anugrah Polii (Biologi-2012), Margareth Rika (Biologi-2013), Indana Zulfa (Teknik Industri-2013), Hanestya Oky (Pendidikan Dokter-2011), Daniel Dwipaskawijaya (Fisika-2013). Selain itu terdapat advisor antara lain Didik Huswo Utomo, M.Sc., Roudlotul Jannah, S. Si, Aisyah Ami Wardani, S. Si., dan Agatha Mia, S. Si.

Tim UB_Indonesia dibimbing oleh Bapak Widodo, Ph.D. Med. Sc., Ibu Zulfaidah Penata Gama, Ph. D., dan Ibu Chandra Dewi, Ph. D. De(ngue)tective membahas tentang desain dan konstruksi basa nukleotida penyusun protein antigen dan antibodi rekombinasi untuk deteksi virus demam berdarah serotype I-IV.

Konstruksi nukleotida ini kemudian digabungkan dan diperbanyak melalui plasmid yang telah ditentukan oleh pihak iGEM. Tahapan penelitian yang dilakukan berbasis biologi teknologi dan molekuler. Proyek penelitian ini didukung dengan aplikasi android untuk mengolah citra gambar hasil deteksi awal di kemudian hari. Aplikasi ini berisi mengenai informasi demam berdarah secara umum beserta gejala dan proses input data hasil deteksi yang nantinya akan tersinkronisasi ke dalam database kesehatan.

Kegiatan yang dilakukan tidak terbatas pada penelitian laboratorium dan aplikasi, melainkan harus melaksanakan aksi human practice. Aksi ini dilaksanakan di Kediri dalam konteks pengambilan sampel dan sosialisasi demam berdarah kepada masyarakat berkolaborasi dengan Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi Jawa Timur.

Atas prestasi yang diperoleh, Bapak Marjono selaku Dekan berkenan memberikan reward bagi anggota tim yang berasal dari Fakultas MIPA.

UB_Indonesia team led by Mr. Widodo, Ph.D. Med. Sc., Mrs. Zulfaidah Penata Gama, Ph. D., and Mrs. Chandra Dewi, Ph. D. De(ngue)tective discusses the design and construction of the nucleotide building blocks of protein antigens and recombinant antibodies for the detection of dengue virus serotype I-IV.

Construction nucleotides are then combined and propagated through plasmids have been determined by the IGEM. Stages of research conducted based technologies and molecular biology. The research project is supported by android application for image processing image early detection results at a later date. This application contains information about dengue fever in general as well as of phenomena and processes data input detection results that will be synchronized into a health database.

The activities carried out are not limited to laboratory research and application, but must carry out the practice of human action. This action was carried out in Kediri in the context of the sampling and dissemination of dengue to the public in collaboration with the East Java Provincial Health Office.
